Southwestern Advantage Hosts Recruiting Seminar in San Antonio Texas
From March 16th – 18th Southwestern Advantage hosted part two of their Great Recruiters Seminar (GRS2) in San Antonio, Texas. The three-day event focused on finishing the recruiting season with perfect effort. The 225 college students in attendance received training from some of Southwestern’s most successful recruiters and leaders in the country.
Trey Campbell, Southwestern Advantage Vice President of Communications and Government Relations, stated, “GRS 2 is a meeting that sets the course for a strong finish in recruiting. College and university students from all over the world are starting to think about their summer plans and what they will be doing. The recruiting meeting is at the perfect time to start capitalizing on those who need a plan, but don’t know what they will do yet. Southwestern Advantage offers an opportunity to help them develop a skill set they won’t get in a classroom. The training content taught at GRS 2 to the in-school and full-time leaders can be applied to building a team and helping others experience growth. Recruiting others to participate in the Southwestern Advantage sales and leadership program is a way to pay it forward to share with others life and business skills to help them with their goals in life.”
Gala Richards, a marketing major at the University of Central Florida, expressed that, “GRS 2 was a refreshing spring break experience by traveling to a new town and surrounding myself with hard working individuals with big dreams.” She shared that her favorite memories are, “the ones where we discuss our futures with no judgment and a shared ambition.”
First Year Interns Explore GRS II and Learn More About Running their Own Business
Although the three-day seminar is focused primarily on training for student leaders, local first years were invited to attend the event as well. They trained separately with sales leaders on the basics of running their own business. One first year attendee, Maggie Ovalle, a freshman Communications, Leadership, and Marketing major from the University of Texas at Austin, stated, “I’m excited to develop maturity and confidence. I also want to prove to my family that nothing worth doing comes easy and to prove to myself that I can start and finish something hard.”
San Antonio a Hit Location for GRS II
All attendees were invited to explore San Antonio by dining at one of the many local taco shops, experiencing the Riverwalk’s famous boat tour, and visiting the Alamo. Through fun team-building activities and expert training, leaders and recruiters were prepared to finish the recruiting season strong and launch their 2023 internship with perfect effort.
