Southwestern Advantage and COVID-19

Every business in the country is affected in some way, and we are no different. We are following CDC, Federal, and local government guidelines to protect the safety, health, and well-being of students who participate in our sales & leadership program, as well as families in the communities they serve. This is our top priority. While no one knows what conditions will be like in the weeks or months ahead, we’ve always believed there is an important line between thoughtful, constructive actions and fear-based paralysis. We are planning to conduct a great summer program and will make whatever adaptations are necessary - always striving to be part of the solution.

Applications & Interviews

We are still accepting online applications for our sales and leadership program. Information sessions and our student selection process are being held via Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime conferences.

College students and recent graduates may apply at southwesternadvantage.com/apply

Looking Ahead

Just like our leaders in government (Federal and local), we do not know how this pandemic will look short-term or long-term. We are following all CDC, Federal, and local guidelines to protect everyone.

As for our months ahead, we would be irresponsible if we did not do both of the following:
A. Continue to prepare in case things go back to, or as close as possible to, what we might call ‘normal’
B. Develop contingency plans that would allow our company and program to continue to serve both university students, and communities, but in different ways than we have in the past

Among the options we are preparing are the possibility of a later start to our normal selling season (with a later finish for those not returning for fall classes), expanding remote training capability in the event we cannot gather in larger groups for sales school, and in the most extreme case, making sales through remote forms of communication and referrals. As always, our philosophy is to expect the best while preparing for many other outcomes.

Our home-based learning products are needed more than ever in households across America. The lessons of self-reliance and resilience our program has taught for a century and half are also needed more than ever by the young people who participate in our program.

Just like ALL companies that have been affected, we have had many internal discussions about moving forward in a manner that is in line with our top priority: safety. For example, we have cancelled all travel and in-person meetings at this time, using technology for training and connection.

We will make whatever adaptations are necessary, and planning is already underway. Since the summer selling season is not upon us just yet, we are still actively exploring the opportunities that we have in front of us. Rest assured that the safety and well-being of all involved will remain our top priority.
